The sad thing is that you really cannot avoid the digital age (as someone
else recently mentioned). But I cannot imagine sitting and staring and a
computer screen reading comics. There is something to be said with the
comic in your hand, the smell, the paper, the ads, the previews for the
companies other comic books, and last, but not least, supporting your
creators. I love comics and go out of my way, to spend more money, by
buying the comics rather than the trades (even though the trades often offer
extra goodies--but too each his own).

The same way i buy Christopher Guest/Eugene Levy films on DVD (when I know I
wont watch them often--hello Waiting for Guffman), Radiohead CDS (when I
have the downloaded bootleg versions--hello Hail to the Thief), and Cerebus
comics (when I know its cheaper to buy the trades), I purchase the
individual comics. I dont fault people for scamming the system, I just know
that Mark and Sergio rely on sales, and I want them to know that I am
willing to spend my $4 (or $40 canadian) on their products.

The beauty of Groo on CD is that it will be preserved forever, but give it
to your friends who have the comics, dont sell it to people because their
cheap.

End of Sermon.

Mark, I love Groo (it was the first comic i purchased with my own
money--Groo Epic #4). I have spent a fortune on Ebay buying Miniatures,
Cards, Card boxes (no sketch cards dammit), as well as in stores,
lunchboxes, christmas ornaments, PVC figures, statues (gift from my now
wife), and posters. I wish all the cash went to you guys, but reality is
things sell out. Know that if you license more clothes we will buy, if you
put out more comics, we will buy, ect.

The people who want to support will support, the people who couldnt care
less will buy bootleg CDs. Really the worst that will happen is a person
who would never buy a Groo comic, will love the cd, and buy the new stuff.
Maybe make a convert.

And thats why I love the Groop. You all know that we are manic about Groo,
and therefore you give us first dibbs, leeway, ect.

Forget about the CD, when is the new series coming out? Hell, when are the
Groo bookshelves coming out?
J
