It hardly helps to make it "world-wide" but there is a team from Canada
(Blue Jays) who actually won the world series twice:
"The Jays became the first team to capture back-to-back World Series titles
since the 1977-78 Yankees, when they downed Atlanta and Philadelphia in '92
and '93."
And until recently there was the Montreal Expos.
