Yep. About 20 minutes to the border vs 2 hrs to the largest Mexican community 
outside of Mexico City..... Of course, getting back north of the border takes 
a bit longer than crossing over to the south.
You don't even have to drive-- the trolley goes from downtown to the border, 
so all you'd have to do is wallk across Harbor Dr from the Convention Center 
to the trolley stop over there, and take the one headed south.
