Greetings,
As you may recall, I have been slowly working my way through the old
Groos for the first time. I have just hit a major milestone...Marvel
#87. This is the first issue with Rufferto on the back cover. It is also
when the printing quality was improved and the price went up to $2.25
($2.70 Canada, $1.10 UK).
On the lower half of page 25, Groo is leading a procession as "Supreme
General". If you look straight up from Groo you will see a house with
some people on the roof looking down. The house has some kind of dome
with a hole in it at the top. Notice that some birds are standing around
the hole. What do you think these birds are doing? Up here in the winter
you sometimes see pigeons standing around chimney tops like this,
presumably to keep warm.
Any thoughts?
P.S. Here is a couple of haiku I wrote recently related to this:
chilly day,
pigeons huddle around
a chimney top
...as written by one of the pigeons:
i squeeze
into a warm spot...
better stay awake
