John/Necro,
I realize I sounded a bit paranoid about the seller. Besides the
text-based communication of e-mail possibly being interpreted as an
exaggerated reaction on my part, I think perhaps I was much more anxious
sounding in the wording I chose about the entire issue earlier on. I am
quite confident the seller is remedying the problem as soon as possible,
as you pointed out. It is not like I will give negative feedback or even
neutral feedback as long as everything works out in the end. Actually I
would leave positive feedback and point out he alleviated the problem
quickly in the description I leave.
I am certainly not one to be quick to judge, even though I have
been burnt one or two times in eBay deals. Years ago I sold an entire
Technics stereo system on eBay and did not want the payment of the
actual shipping and handling costs (over $60) until the stereo was
proven to work after delivery. It took over two months after delivery
for the buyer to respond. Apparently he was distracted by a break up
with his girlfriend and the stereo was just sitting in the boxes the
whole time. He still never paid me the cost of the actual shipping, but
I left just neutral feedback rather than negative. Call me a nice guy...
or a sucker. :)
