Makes me glad that I'm just a fan who collects comics instead of a
"serious collector / profssional grader". I think it is nice to have a few
odd issues autographed by a favorite artist / creator. It adds a bit of
pride and prestige to an accumulation of comics when you can pull out an
issue and show off an autograph of the person who's work you admire and
enjoy so much.

I agree with a statement Sergio made in an interview some years ago
concerning comics being meant to be read and enjoyed, not just packed away
in a plastic bag unread.

I also think that ebay really needs to be appreciated a lot more because it
(and the internet in general) has made aquiring autographed comics as well
as other hard to find items a lot easier than it used to be, especially for
fans who don't live in major metropolitan areas where large conventions are
held. Before Ebay, conventions were the only place fans could get any real
chance of getting an autograph from their favorite artist. Then again, I
suppose if a fan doesn't have the free time and excessive extra cash laying
around so that they can drop everything to go to a convention, then they
don't deserve an autograph from their favorite artist.
