[Groop] Not Groo, Groo, M&S [0], children and, well, nothing else really

[Stray Toaster]

(In an effort to post more than one post a year, so not to be at the
bottom of the um, top posters list, or top of the bottom posters list,
which, I must admit, sounds awful, here is a mail. Out of nowhere, not
to do with much, just uping my non-lurking, or downing my real-lurking.
You decide!)

My children, God love them, and forgive them, have decided Groo is 
something to be proud to mention to their friends they love. Which means
they have ripped (sometimes almost literally) into my collection of
Destroyer Duck #1 onwards collection. I know, lax parenting skills, but
I must keep to my belief to allow them to develop and think for
themselves. (Those who ignore the lessons from Groo are doomed to repeat
them forever, once someone might have said. But being a minarchist type,
the issue, Image one I think, but not Image #1 if you see what I mean,
who name escapes me, has a lesson about beauracracy. Which I know my
eldest has employed in some lesson they did on politics. And it is a sad
state of affairs when most of this mail is in parens, is it not?)

And, do you know, none of that is really what I wanted to say. I wanted
to mention about what the first phrase in my subject was. Not Groo.

Therefore, taking all that preamble into consideration, it transpires
that my squawks also came across 'Sergio Destroys DC' and the sister
edition of 'Sergio Massacres Marvel'. While some of the jokes are dated,
being political and socially timed, and some of them a bit
Merkan-centric (well duh), they both have stood the test of time rather
well. So much so I just wanted to say I enjoyed reading them, what, a
decade or so after they were published. So I will say that:

I really enjoyed re-reading the 'Sergio vs Marvel and DC' editions.

But I note that the DC one was numbered one. Did I miss #2? Or is this
some DC wackiness where they number everything? Or did I not see the
number on the Marvel one? And dear oh dear, the amount of
self-aggrandizing adverts in the DC one. Almost put me off, had it not
been an SA/ME/TL as well I belive book.
