I think Rick' s most important point is being missed, and that is that
it was by no means harsh, but a rather polite and quite reasonable
request that he periodically makes to keep from going nuts.

I don't think he intentionally singled you out as someone to pick on,
he just randomly picked a post to quote. The bottom line, is, we should
all please keep the digesters (ewww) in mind and edit out anything
superfluous whenever possible. 

Still, it's not worth fighting over, let's go back to fun!
