Mark,
I just had an idea! (Imagine that, a Groo fan getting an idea.)
I am not sure why you and Sergio were thinking of doing the alphabet in
the form or Groo characters and poems. Maybe it is some sort of
promotional gimmick to infuse thoughts of the alphabet in Groo fans so
they are subconsciously prepared to continue spending their hard earned
money on the alphabetically-titled Marvel/Epic trade paper back
reprints.
Anyway, I was thinking since the alphabet has 26 letters and
this year is Groo's 25th anniversary, what if you presented the
alphabetical character list as a tribute of the 25 years? Obviously you
would be one character name short with the 25 years, but you could
easily get away with gypping us readers. I think we are used to it by
now. ;)
You and I both could not come up with a character for Z, which
so happens to be the last letter of the alphabet. You could just leave
it relatively blank, though some sort of imagery and maybe even a short
limerick would be nice, which would contain some hint of possibly a
future upcoming Groo Special. That issue would naturally be due out next
year in tribute to the 26th year of Groo of course, and it would depute
a character whose name conveniently starts with Z.
Another idea, probably much simpler for you but not really for
Sergio, is to draw up a group shot of as many of the cute little animals
in Groo's world, and obviously entitle it the "Zoo." Using both ways you
could eliminate the non-character-fitted letter "Z". While I like the
idea of one of Sergio's detailed mass group drawings and a bunch of cute
little animals huddled together in one big group hug, I suppose I would
have to recommend my first idea more. If you went with my first idea it
would obviously imply there will be yet another Groo comic/special on
the way in less than a year. As part of the Groop, it should be quite
apparent by now that I/we will have no problem purchasing more Groo
stuff, and both you and Sergio could make some more money off of us. :)
As far as the other missing letters... I think you might be on
your own with that unless some other Groopies come up with something.
Again, I hope I have been some sort of assistance and good luck!
