Did you leave without rufferto?  You always have to carry one of the figures 
of PVC with groo and rufferto.  If rufferto is on your person, all bad luck 
is nullified.

You may want to make a necklace of the PVC figure, that way rufferto is 
never off your body for even a second.  You could get away with the rufferto 
pin, but don't take the item off that it is on.

Follow these suggestions whenever carrying the groo card.  That's the only 
safe way really.
