>>As only an example, Kaytee from the Groop has made some incredible bead
art, including at least one “Rufferto” amulet pouch. What if another Groop
member wanted to have one made? Would Kaytee be allowed to sell such a piece of
artwork with Groo-related imagery at a fair price, which covered her expenses &
time spent on the project or would she have to seek permission first? <<
I only made 1 (one) Rufferto pouch. I got permission from Sergio, via Mark
(on the Groop), and specified I was making it for myself/display only, not for
sale. One of these days, I'm going to re-graph the design for Sergio, then he
can do as he pleases re: selling or otherwise distributing it to anybody who
wants to make one for themselves.
As to a fair price for time and materials... including the neckstrap that
went with it, if you charge min. wage for time, and get the supplies at
"professional discount" rates... maybe $500 wholesale, plus whatever licensing fee
Sergio would charge, so $1000 to $1500 "retail". And you'd have a limited "market"
(Gary), who if he had that kind of money to spend on "Groo stuff", would
spend it on one of Sergio's drawings instead.

Good housekeeping is an exact science. I'm into art.
