Adding my two kopins to what Tone and Kaytee have said about the
expanding foam...
I don't have any experience building costumes with this substance;
however, I have weatherproofed my house with it. You will want to
note that this product comes in at least two formulations, one for
narrow cracks and one for larger gaps. The difference is in how much
it expands. The narrow gap formulation will expand a little bit, and
will less destructive force. The larger-gap formula will remind you
of episode 43 of Garfield & Friends when the yogurt takes over the
whole house, giving you more bang for your foam buck. They have the
consistency of the bastard offspring of marshmallow fluff and
superglue, so be careful what you touch with it. Disposable latex
gloves are essential. And, speaking from experience, avoid getting
any of it in your hair.
