Yea!! we gotta keep promoting Groo so he keeps coming well into next
year!!!
The next "Previews" catalog for August orders comes out in the next 2 weeks
to comic shops (hopefully with some Groo preview pages) and now's the perfect
time to tell your local comic shop owners to pre-order tons of the 25th
Anniversary issue for August 1st! Definitely call any other nearby comic shops
too! Don't stop at just one comic shop...call a bunch of them!
Here's the "comic shop locator" link to find your nearest comic shops:

Ask your wives, girlfriends, husbands/boyfriends or baby-daddys/baby-mamas
to call and order too!! Let's pump up the Groo circulation numbers!!!!
The last Sergio/Mark comic from last Summer, "Solo" #11 had orders of 14,100
which sold way more than the title's previous issue of "Solo 10" at 11,400
and "Solo #12" at 10,300. That bump in increase shows that there's a lot of
people out there craving more "Sergio/Mark" style comics! Let's order up
these new Groo comics while we can!
We can make Groo one of Dark Horse's top sellers so more books keep on
coming!!!!
And possibly more Sergio/Mark comic projects! Like maybe a Mighty Magnor 2
mini series for next year??? (2008 marks the 15th Anniversary of Mighty
Magnor too...)

Meanwhile, GO TO YOUR LOCAL COMIC SHOP OR THE TFAW WEB SITE AND ORDER 2 OR
3 COPIES OF THE GROO 25TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL.
And tell people you know who used to read Groo or are the type of folks who
might like to read Groo to do the same!!! As Eric pointed out, the first
Dark Horse Groo in 1998 had 21,300 preorders and by the last Groo in April of
2002, preorders were down to 10,100. (Dropping it from #117 to the 160's.) I
don't think the sales through TFAW will show up in the preorder figures, but
that doesn't matter
I don't know if we can actually do anything that will have a substantive
effect on total sales, but we can at least try to spread the word outside
regular comic book channels! I have run into a tons of folks who have fond
memories of reading Groo in the Epic days, but haven't read him since. If we could
just tap into a little of that potential market that would be something.
OK, I gotta get back to work or I'm gonna be in big trouble. Take care all
