[Groop] Groop Regarding EBAY and auctions

Rick,
While the end goal might seem to be a desire to save money on
Groo items, it is also a way to have Groop members coexist in a friendly
manner. The times I have wanted to bid on something but other Groopies
were bidding occasionally there were multiple items I and the other
Groopie were interested in. When that is the case some Groopies have
been gracious enough to not bid on something I really wanted. This was
the two of us would at least get one item we both especially wanted. It
was not so much about saving money as much as it was about sharing what
Groo stuff is out there, and then perhaps having more money to focus on
that one item you want in case some stranger bids on it too.
By the way, while you might be willing to place your ultimate
bid on eBay the majority of buyers elect to bid in the last few moments.
This tactic puts early buyers at ease because a false sense of comfort
in securing the item is established. Basically, by not putting a higher
bid early on, the other's sense of competition is low. This tends to
result in being able to win an item at a lower price than what you might
have been willing to spend even though you might have placed a much
higher bid. The early bidder then find him or herself frustrated he/she
did not bother to include that $1-$5 more than they were truly willing
to go.
Rick, you also mentioned the possibility of Groop collaboration
in buying eBay items negatively affecting Groopies themselves, if a
Groopie is the seller. Well, personally if I ever were to sell off my
Groo items I think I would MUCH rather it be purchased by loyal fans,
such as those amongst the Groop. I have loved my Groo collection and I
would hope whoever possesses it after me can appreciate it a goo deal.
Therefore, I think I would first try to offer the items to you guys
before selling it off for an unknown amount to strangers.
Shawne,
I totally hear what you are saying. I respect that and if you
did ever bid against me I would certainly not hold it against you. You
can also be comforted in the fact I already have a Groo Game. :)
And as far as the line of Groo clothing, I think we can all
probably agree all hats are off. Those items are certainly insanely
desired by us all... but possibly not equally depending on how much each
of us might be willing to pay. That is when fair competition among us is
certainly expected. I would just hope someone in the Groop, who already
has a particular Groo clothing item, would not be trying to outbid a
fellow Groopie for the same item.
Ryan,
Thanks for pointing out eBay's policies for Buyers. See
everyone... it is legal for us to collaborate. :)
Mark (from the UK),
I am not sure if you were being serious about removing your name
from the eBay list I compiled because you specifically joked, "ha-ha !".
Either way, I did respect your request and have already removed your
name from the on-line lists in both Excel and html format, although I
obviously can not account for any of the lists people may have seen and
downloaded already.
May I ask you exactly what you did not appreciate about my
e-mail? If I offended you in any way I apologize and hope you are not
disappointed with me. I was sincerely hoping the list would bring
Groopies together by possibly sparking more communication in order for
Groop members to develop cooperation with each other. The last thing I
wanted to do was upset anyone.
