[Groop] My New Shoes Grooism

I'm cheap.

That's just the way it is.

I always buy shoes as cheaply as possible, preferably on sale, but I go
as no frills as humanly possible.

Not surprisingly, these el cheapo shoes never really last. I have a
wide foot, so I often break through the sides before coming close to
wearing them out.

Now, I'm walking and on my feet for large stretches of the day,
sometimes all day, so my boss has been very vocally saying he thinks I
should invest in a particular brand of quality shoes that are to me
very expensive.

Well, I came into a $200 windfall yesterday, and perhaps I had better
things to spend the money on, but I thought I'd invest in the expensive
shoes, really treat myself.

These are perfect for me, they are black and dressy looking but with
good outdoor-style tread, wide width, waterproof, really a great tour
guide shoe that can also be worn around the office. I also went with
Custom molded arch-support insoles and a black-oiled leather sponge to
care for them.

Let me get the receipt...

Shoes: ............................$164.95
Custom molded
arch-support insoles: ...........$59.95
Black-oiled
leather sponge.....................$5.95

Sales tax............................$18.48

Total (GASP!!!) .................$249.33

DID I ERR?

I wore them today at work for the first time, they were nice and
comfortable, but halfway through the first day I noticed the front of
the sole was flapping loose!!!!!!!!

Now, that NEVER happened with my el cheapo shoes, so again...

DID I ERR?

(I'm obviously taking them back tomorrow)
