Alex,
Uhm... since you are East of my location, I will just wait
comfortably at my house until you come to have me join you on the way to
Gary's place. :)
I always thought a Groo cycling jersey would be awesome. I
actually have a small collection of uncommon cycling jerseys, including
a sleeveless orange Warner Brothers cartoon character jersey, so a Groo
jersey would be the ultimate. In fact I wore the Warner Bros. jersey on
my way down to Baltimore for the convention, but of course I took it
off, got freshened up, and put on my Groo T-shirt before meeting Sergio.
Naturally as you suggest, any Groo jersey would have to be
orange (or should it be silver???), but it should also be sleeveless
like the Warner Bros. jersey I have. Maybe along the bottom on the
cycling-jersey-standard back three pockets they could each have an
image. One would be a little pouch, another would be a little a skull,
and the other would be a knife... just like Groo's utility belt. On the
front it could just say "Groo" in fancy comic-cover style text, but it
would also have two straps/cords diagonally across with that beta-max
tape. On the back it could have Groo walking happily along with Rufferto
and the words "the Wanderer". Having "Wanderer" on a cycling jersey
would be perfect.
Once I actually saw a cyclist with one of those aerodynamic disc
wheel coverings, but it had cool graphics printed on it. The image was
the comic character "The Maxx," which some people may also recognize as
an older animated series from MTV around the time when Liquid TV was
becoming popular. In the story line of "The Maxx" he bounced back
between reality and his subconscious alternate "outback" dimension where
he was a beast-hero. Anyway, when he would have his little mental
breakdowns and think out loud in the real world he would usually curl up
into a fetal position. Well, someone took a shot of "The Maxx" in his
fetal position and printed it up as a bicycle wheel disc cover. This
caused the appearance of "The Maxx" tumbling as the bike rolled forward.
I mention all this "Maxx" stuff because I always thought it
would pretty rad to print up Groo tumbling with his swords drawn as a
bicycle wheel disc cover. If I end up getting a job at a local printing
company I might see if I can do this as a side project for myself, then
I would gladly share photos of my bike with you guys. :)
Chad,
If you get the right kind of cycling water bottle, you can make
it into a cheese-dip squirt bottle. :)
