I think it's real, but if so it's very early work. I spoke to Sergio a
couple of weeks ago and he complained that Jerry DeFuccio's heirs have been
selling off a lot of his things on Ebay, including a lot of drawings and
sketches that were never intended for publication, such as this one.
Sergio's style has changed somewhat since the early '60s, and this piece
looks a bit like his work from that time, but certainly not a finished
piece. More than likely it wasn't exactly a "gift", more like something
Sergio idly doodled which DeFuccio decided to keep.
That's my guess anyway. I'm no expert, but it fits with what I was told.
