[Groop] Where were you?

For me it was in the mid-eighties... probably '85 though I am not
certain. I was a kid at day camp or some other summer outdoor thing
my folks took me to, and another kid had an issue of Groo that he
showed me (I think it was Epic #8, but not positive). I loved it and
had a good read/laugh. Fast forward a few years and I see Groo on the
comic shelf at a variety store and I think, 'Hey! I remember that
name!' And that started the collecting, I think in the mid 60's issues
of the Epic run. By that point I could recognize Sergio's work from
MAD, though Spy vs.Spy was my favourite from there. Thus far it's
turned out to be the only comic I've ever seen fit to
collect/purchase, though Usagi is tempting me to start again.
