[Groop] How Many Groos?

	Coming out of lurking
and erring. I say the latter because it seems
somehow and somewhere along the line I accidentally shifted the position
of my Groop folder into another folder within MS Outlook. The result of
that mistake caused me not to notice any of the bold-faced/high-lighted
unread new e-mails, which automatically get directed into my Groop
folder. To explain this further, when there are new unread e-mails in a
primary/outer folder the folder itself becomes bold-faced. However, it
seems that a sub-folder with new unread e-mails in it does not cause its
parent/primary/outer folder to become bold-faced. By chance I just
happened to open up the primary folder, which the Groop folder was hiding
in, and I saw the bold-faced Groop folder with a count of 76 new messages
inside. <Argh>

So after moving the unintended Groop sub-folder into a position as a
primary/outer folder, I caught up and read all of the posts I missed.
Uhm, wait a minute
maybe reading all the Groop posts was a mistake, and
I actually did not err originally because perhaps my subconscious was
trying to hide the Groop discussion from myself. :)
I have to admit I did think it was odd that the long-run haiku messages
suddenly stopped and no one was posting, but I just never noticed the
missing Groop folder. Anyway, forgive me for not adding to the tsunami of
haiku posts, both now and when I first noticed the thread. I have not
been in the best spirits for quite some time. However, Gary’s call for
simply looking around my room and counting the visible Groos sounds easy
enough for me to get involved with.

By the way, obviously I know how you (Gary) feel about that realistic
Groo figurine made by Ral Partha, which someone posted an eBay link for

but how come I never heard of it before (or maybe my Groo-tarnished mind
just forgot). In general
what was the deal with that thing?! I imagine
Ral Partha acted legitimately in making the “Groo” knock-off figure
because of how significant they are in the table-top gaming figurine
industry, but I have a hard time seeing Sergio being cool with the way
they depicted Groo. I mean, seriously, the Ral Partha figure kind of
looks ridiculous even compared to how Groo really looks.

	Anyway
back to the Groo count in the room I am in, which is my home
office upstairs in our house. Behind me while sitting at my desk are some
display shelves I made for some of my Groo collection. In the past I
posted links to photos of the back-lit shelves, so I will save everyone’s
time by not repeating them. The first number in my count refers to the
Groos in “plain sight” from where I am currently sitting at my desk. The
second number refers to the Groos in “plain sight” if a person could walk
around the room without disturbing anything.

* One side of the “Cheese Dip” statue box shows the view from the rear of
Sergio’s clay-modeling desk. While there is clearly one good Groo figure
Sergio is working on in the picture, there are eleven scrapped sculptures
Sergio has thrown on the floor. I did not count the discarded clay
depictions of Groo in my amounts.

As for all the other Groo collectibles in my possession, they are all
within two long comic book boxes inside a storage bench, which I built
beneath the display shelves. Someone BETTER NOT start a thread asking how
many images of Groo can be seen at a person’s location if viewed through
the sight of superman’s (or any other super-natural person’s) X-ray
and/or telescopic vision! :)

Hope everyone is doing well. Best wishes to all,
_TONE_
