[Groop] (Not a) Conan parody

Well, you wouldn't would you... but how anybody could infer that I don't see. Conan has a broadsword whereas Groo has katanas. Conan has rippling thighs, Groo has, well whatever those are, presumably there's bones and muscle in there somewhere. Conan is driven by destiny, Groo is driven away.
BTW I'm not knowledgeable about these things...which came first Conan or the barbarian genre?
