Hi Folks!
The publishing history of Buzz & Bell can be a little confusing, especially if you try to keep track of what gags were used for what covers.
First off, Buzz & Bell (Buzz et Bell in French, Astro & Alpen (sp?) in Norweigen) were first published as one page, usually multi-panel gags in European humor magazines. When Sergio had 4 of them they were published in a French hardback edition. This was followed very shortly by an American softcover and other European soft covers. When Sergio had produced another 4,, a second French hardback edition was published, but there were no soft cover publications anywhere else. Also, as noted before, a third book was going to be published but it was blown up. So here we go:
Buzz & Bell .. French Hardback; Cover: Buzz & Bell standing on a planet that is actually a giant bomb
Buzz & Bell American Softback; Cover: Buzz accidentally squishing a tiny native to the planet they are on
Buzz & Bell American Softback; Cover: Buzz accidentally squishing a tiny native to the planet they are on
"Special San Diego Comic-Con '1 Dedicated Edition of 00 copies" Insert page-Only difference is those words & CC Logo
Buzz & Bell American Hardback; Cover: Buzz & Bell standing on a planet that is actually a giant bomb
Ltd. Edition of 200,, ''d & signed on insert page with a Jack-in-the Box gag.
Buzz & Bell .. French Hardback; Cover: Buzz accidentally squishing a tiny native to the planet they are on
Also contains the Jack-in-the-Box gag. (page 2,, 54))
Any Questions?
Take care, Gary G.
