[Groop] Any Groo news from San Diego?

Hi Folks!

Thanks Kaytee for a great update. Sorry for my pathetic comments. I'm not really frazzled, that's just what happens to people who try to keep up with Sergio, even when he's not 100%.
Despite Sergio's "mia culpa" about the trade paperbacks, I think it's more of a financial thing (i.e. the publishers won't pay enough and/or won't pay for Tom to re-color) than that Sergio can't find stuff. Sergio is going to the APE convention in October and wants to learn about self publishing.
As Kaytee said, Sergio is getting better, but his back is still giving him a lot of grief. It puts him in a nasty little catch-22. He needs to do physical therapy to regain the strength (and just rebuild some muscle mass that was lost) but when he's done with a session with the therapist (I think her name is Brunhilda or something) he can't draw for a while because his hand is a little shaky. But he will be better. He is determined and a determined Sergio is an unstoppable Sergio. And of course he is still funny and quick witted as ever and has enough charm for 3 men.
Anyho, more later. Take care all,

Gary G.

Sergio is doing pretty well-- still has a cane, but says he should be done with it soon. He's catching up on all the projects that were put on hold; GvsC may come out by the end of the year. Funnies #8 should be out soon, too. Still interested in doing a movie-- somebody suggested "Kickstart" for funding... Sergio (after an explanation from Mark) said he would discuss the concept with Mark. Also still interested in/planning on continuing with the Groo "alphabet" series... as soon has he is able to look for the original art needed (and, maybe, talk Tom into re-coloring them).

Mark is moderating every panel at Comic Con again.

Tom was declared the hardest working artist at Comic Con. At least this year, he got to attend, since he didn't have 3 or 4 things due by Monday.

Stan is working on 47 Ronin; Usagi works are on hiatus because of that.

Gary has been un-packing (for signatures), re-packing and shipping off books since Wed Preview Night. He looks frazzled. George's daughter has been helping him-- she's a real cutie!

Scott Shaw! is still waiting for his announced autobiographical opus to arrive at Comic Con. It was supposed to be delivered for Wed night... then, he was told "Friday".... today (Friday) he was told "Sat, around noon".

Kaytee (working in the Art Show, with occasional breaks for Sergio panels, and visits to the "I" row and 4906)

Has anybody heard any Groo news from the Sergio and Mark Show,
which was Thursday at San Diego ComicCon?

Groo vs Conan series? New Groo statues? Future plans on Groo? Anything? :-)

- Dennis
