[Groop] IDW Artist's Edition - Groo

Hi Folks!

I will check over the weekend, but I think that art might be from a page late in the Epic run where Sergio did one of his "what 10 things are different about these two drawings that at first glance look identical" puzzles that he is now doing in Sergio Funnies.

But I could be wrong.

Anywho, Mark said the rumor was true but their may be a "complication." So there is no reason to think the art is a bootleg. There is also no reason to think that will actually be the cover either. It may just be a piece of art provided by Sergio for promo purposes.

As to what the "complication" "may be," Lord Knows! I sure as heck hope it's something trivial that can be worked out easily.

Gary G.

That can't be a bootleg....

I don't know if I could narrow it down to less than 20! The Amulet is great. Wager of the Gods and #100 are great. Any issue with Chakaal is great. You can't go wrong with issues 29-32 that introduces us to Rufferto. The Fountain of Youth pair is great. Of the newer stuff, I'd like to see Mightier Than the Sword because of the wild art Sergio did with Pipal Khan's imaginings of what Groo looks like. I think that's over 20 right there. And I didn't even mention The Eclipse Special, Death and Life of Groo, or the first 6 Pacifics! (Ooo! if not all of #6, at least the front and back reverse cover!) Let's see and then there's...

That settles it! They need to do at least 2 books. Maybe 3...

Hey Gary!

I, too, would like to see THE AMULET collected (as any fool can plainly see . . .)

Based on previous IDW Editions, 144-176 pages, so that's probably about 6 or 7 issues?

I think it would be great to collect together whole story-arcs, like "Wager of the Gods", "Princess Thaiis" , or "The Amulet" (Marvel #34,35,36), which are three of my all-time favourites. (Some others, however, like "Man of the People" I do not care for at all).

Otherwise, I'd prefer to see earlier issues, like the Pacific ones, or Marvel pre-#50 (just to abitrarily draw a line somewhere for no special reason).

Ned

Hi Folks!

Here are the exact words from Mark on this subject:

"The rumor is true as of this moment. There may be a complication."

Hopefully whatever the complication may be will not occur and the IDW Artist's Editions of Groo will happen. I'd hate to see this Groo-ed up.

I'm not familiar with how many pages they put in one book. Anyone know?

What issues would everyone like to see?

Hope all is going well for everyone,

Gary G.
