<DIV><FONT size=2>I do have my copy handy and in the "Index and Notes" in the
back he certainly does seem to be saying that Sergio drew the artwork on the
wall on page 1 and page 8. Hmm. OK. I will have to ask
again. Stan will be up here (in Seattle, one hour north) for a Con in
February and I will ask again. I could have sworn I asked him, but
maybe I got confused. Not unusual for me. -Gary G.

<P>The reason I mentioned it (and took a close look at it in the first place)
was because in the Art of Usagi yojimbo #1, there is a list of information
concerning the contents of the book, and it seemed to suggest that Stan was
stating that Sergio drew (reproduced) that drawing both on page one, and
later on page five (the view of Groo in the drawing on page five is obscured
by something in the foreground). I would make an exact quote but I don't have
the comic at hand currently...<BR><BR></P></DIV>

<DIV></DIV>>Hi Steve!
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>I asked Stan about that drawing and he said he did it, not
Sergio. So it goes in the Groo Drawn by Others
category. Stan can draw Groo & Rufferto so that they are
virtually indistinguishable from Sergio's drawings. In the Dark Horse UY #1
letters column, Stan answers my question about which of 3 other UY Groo
appearances are his and which are Sergio's. -Gary G.

<DIV></DIV>> In the "How I Draw an Issue of Usagi" story by
Stan Sakai that first appeared in Amazing Heroes #187, was expanded and
republished in one of the Fantagraphics hardbound collections, and then
reprinted in The Art of Usagi Yojimbo #1 by Radio Comix ? In it,
the first panel on page one features a drawing by Stan of his studio including
original art on the walls. Sergio reproduced the drawing of Groo which hangs
in the studio.
