<DIV>Sometimes, often in fact, a car is necessary to get where you need to go in a reasonable time or at a specific time.... If you stay at one of the near-by hotels, there's not a big problem, but outside the downtown area, public transportation is much less than adequate.</DIV>

<DIV>Last year, #2 son used public transportation to get to the Con on one of the weekdays (he had summer school). It took 2 1/2 hours and 3 or 4 different "rides" (at least one bus and 2 different trolley lines). Plus it cost something close to $6 for the one-way trip. And having a car in the underground parking means you have a readily available locker and lunch box, so you don't have to rely on convention center services nor leave the Con.</DIV>
