<DIV>Wow, i didn't know that about the Marvel trades. No wonder there
is such a hold up. Maybe Marvel's new Icon imprint would be a
possible new home for future Groo books since they're trying to tap into the
creator-owned market of comics. Maybe they would have a better
deal/package for Sergio and Mark? </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Well, Solo 11 made the "Best Shots" list on Newsarama
today. It's real good press exposure for Sergio and Mark.
Here's a link below.</DIV>

<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> Any good press is always good for Groo's future return,
right? Hopefully this positive media blitz continues with
reports of Solo selling out by next week. Newsarama is
usually the first to announce any sell outs of DC books.</DIV>

<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Hey Gary, thanks for the Groop card and Booklet! I
got 'em both it today. Groo for 2007!</DIV>

<DIV>Hi Folks! </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>1. Have the Chakkal stories from Groo 50 and 51 been
reprinted with her on the cover yet?</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>That would be the Groo Maiden. </DIV></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>
<DIV>2, Is there any chance that Dark Horse or Graphitti Designs
are planning to make an Absolute Edition Hardcover for Groo? </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Probably not or Mark would have told us it was in the works. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>3. Is there any truth to the rumor of Jack Black being the
forerunner to playing Groo in the movie? </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>No, because it's goning to be a CGI movie, like Shrek. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>4. eh Mark? We need Groo updates......we groopies
are starvin for info.....</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I'm sure Mark will give us something when there is something to give
us. At this point, no news is both good and bad. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>In the case of the movie, it's good news because it means that the movie
plans are progressing and the project has not gone belly up.
Unfortunately, it's still probably several years away because that's just how
these CGI projects work. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>In the case of everything else, it's probably bad news. The deal
for new trade paperbacks and reprints of the first 7 that came out under
Marvel was supposed to have been struck a year ago. The fact that it
hasn't happenned yet probably/might mean that DH's commitment is lukewarm and
they won't give Sergio & Mark a reasonable deal. Ditto
with Groo v Conan and any other New Groo. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I KNOW that Sergio & Mark would love to do new Groo and could
and would despite their busy schedules. This leads me to conclude
that the business side of things is getting in the way, i.e. Dark Horse won't
give them a decent deal. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>But I am ever optimistic that things can be worked out and we will see
New Groo and trade paperbacks in the not too distant future. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Take care -Gary G. </DIV>

Like the way DC comics did for Alan

highly detailed and oversized books they do?</DIV>
