I'm probably the only pessimist in the
GROOP, and I'm sure I'm the oldest, and pretty secure in retirement, but I
find it a bit ironic to be concerned about loss of income while looking forward
to buying comic reruns at $30. Of course, this comes from a guy who owns
all the original editions of MAD, plus 4 or more variations of the MAD Reader
and all other MAD paperbacks, and MAD Big Books, and the Complete EC Library
(Russ Cochran's) all in hardcover with slipcases, and many other reprints of the
original MAD comic, not to mention full sets of The Worst From Mad, Trash from
MAD, More Trash from MAD, MAD about the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s,and recently MAD
Classics, MAD Color, and MAD for Kids. Plus the Complete MAD on CD
ROM. I didn't buy the more recent DVD set. Part of me is glad that
MAD is going quarterly. All of me is glad that MAD TV is gone. Does
anyone want unauthorized BetaMax copies?
