Don't worry, well try to cure you of your wisdom affliction. ;)<br><br>Prior to Conan you pretty much have to read have Norse Mythology, or Beowulf, for a good Barbarian yarn.<br><br>H.P. Lovecraft, August Derleth, and other Weird Tales Contemporaries also added to the Genre, or otherwise helped it along.<br><br>Tolkien (who closely mimicked mythology in many of his works) was, in my opinion a contemporary who took a similar theme in a vastly different direction. Tolkien does have some Lovecraftian undertones at times though (you have to read closely). <br><br>Sergio Aragones did add the Cute Dog part, however (Thanks KayTee) !<br><br>T.
