Hi Folks!

First off, as Tone suspected, I do know about, and I have, a 1985 Heroes Con Groo-Cerebus T-shirt. Wow! A nice looking coming up after 28 years. That's pretty cool.

But here is the main reason for this post: As many of you know I work for the Washington State Department of Revenue. I am essentially a high ranking peon who has certain areas of expertise in Washington tax law (even though I am neither a lawyer or an accountant.) One of my areas is tax preferences for aerospace, which is a big deal in Washington because of Boeing's presence here. [WAKE UP! I'll get to the point here in a minute!]

In the world of big planes, it's pretty much Boeing vs. Airbus and the United States vs. the European Union. The US filed a complaint against the EU with the World Trade Organization , claiming illegal subsidies to Airbus. The EU then filed a complaint against the US claiming illegal subsidies to Boeing, which included the tax prefetences on which I am the (alleged) expert. So I have spent a slice of my time over the past 6 years helping the US Trade Relation folks prepare their case.

But now they want me to go to Geneva, Switzerland with them for the next round of hearings. Sounds pretty cool, right? Well, it's not. It's actually quite a grind, first to get there, and then you spend 3 days in meetings and hearings and apparently these folks never stop talking shop and planning strategies.

BUT THE WORST PART IS I'D MISS THE SECOND HALF OF COMIC CON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, the pain. What is an obsessive Sergio-Groo Fan to do? Surely there is a Groo-ish solution to this problem. I am open to suggestions.

Despondantly yours,
