I played alright. I opened so I just had fun with it. Played a lot of
new records that I had gotten earlier in the day and then dropped into
some rare oldies that I had recently got my hands on.
- Mr. Annand
My opinion of Ben has only improved within the last couple years. Ben
is a very solid and exact DJ. He knows his records and knows how to
program. When I first started listening to Ben play he was a little more
mellow and seemed a bit Spacier (As in outer space) but as of recently he
has been moving closer to what I really enjoy... A bit more stompy and
funkier. So far my favorite set of Ben's was at "My Tropical
Valentine" and Saturdays performance was a very close second. He had me
shakin my butt and thats what really matted.. god job Ben!
- Emily
uhhhh.. hmmmmn... errr yeah... no comment
- Mark E Quark
For those of you who were smart enough to wait through Emily's set got
the privalage to hear one of the most underrated DJ around. Mark
E. Quark is a top notch DJ that knows how to rock it. His set was solid,
funky, inspiring, ass moving, and most of all fun. His program was great
and he is just a really nice guy. You WILL see Mark E. Quark at a
dynagroove and quite posibly at a Euphonic. This guy deserves some
respect and deserves a lot more support. This guy had my ass shaking from
start to finish... He had me dancing like I used to.. You know when your
moving but your uncounscious of how your doing it? I busted a sweat and
got pretty close to takingthe old shirt off..
- JT Donaldson
I left before I got to hear him... I heard he played great. Anyone
have a review?
Over all I thought this was a damn fun party! Justin did a great job on
venue and lineup.. We as the audience did a bad job of
supporting... Where was everyone? You guys couldn't wait till sunday to
hear Doc? Bah... It bums me ou that someone can try so hard to get a
great party together and he can't get support.. There are other DJs in
this scene other than Mark Farina and Doc Martin. I get sick of hearing
people tell me they want to hear "New Talent" and yet when it is presented
to them they cannot support. Don't get me wrong Doc and Mark are good,
great, and innovators of house... BUT lets not have tunnel
vision. Personally I would have liked to have been at Unlock the House
but I figured I would get to hear Doc on Sunday and that my support should
go to the Underground... And now I am sure I will be accoused of "talking
shit" for speaking my opinions.. But so be it.. Where is the support for
the underground? Do people want to hear new talent or not? I hope so
because Euphonic has nothing but new talent for the next 3 weeks... I
will have my answers then.. Sorry for venting....
Justin good job.. The people who were there had a good time and they are
now in the know.
Sorry to throw negativity in the air. It can be frustrating at times.
