You know this is something that has been troubling me. Ive been seeing a
lot of parties up their rates lately for what seems to be, like you said, a
$10 lineup.

whats the deal?? if I pay $20 I want to see some out of town talent, maybe
some *gasp* adventerous bookings - and MAYBE someone who doesnt play the
same shit, every other DJ in LA plays. There is such a lack of diversity in
LA's musical spectrum it just blows my mind sometimes. And its not entirely
the promoters fault for playing it 'safe'.. the bottom line is people just
want to see mark farina and doc martin! names they recognize and know what
theyre going to get. Its pretty sad, since there is so much more happening
in our music than the same ten filtered disco tracks, but welcome to LA,
the cultural chum-bucket of the universe

I dont want to see the locals who, although all good djs, for the most
part, I could see at free thinking on any given weekend (for the low low
price of nothing)

and another thing...
