First of all thank you all for coming out to JAM ON IT, we had a great great time and were very pleased with the turnout.
Here is my personal account of things...
Well we got to the location about 2pm. This place was FUUUUCKKED UP, trash, beer bottles, unmentionables everywhere. So we got to cleaning and got it all setup for the nights events.
Before the doors opened we had some skipping issues in the VinylTribe Room, but I think it was Zack's idea to do the tape and rubber band setup, which worked perfectly! Nice Work.
When Joplin Maccoll went on in that room things all around started to heat up(literally).
Frank E played some great shit as well in the beginning of the night, he normally playes more trance stuff, but he adapted and did very very good.
I was pleased with all the sets that night, and definitely glad to hear Tony Noodles for myself and form my own opinion, as I got many other people's opinions about him before the event. He rocked it, from start to finish pefectly. Thanks Tony, and thanks Becky.
We did have trouble in Area 1 once Vlady got on with one of the tables skipping like mad. I think the needles were partly to blame, and the cheap ass floors.
So Vlady had some issues because of that and so did Jesse.
After awhile we taped a nickel to the needle and that seemed to make it all ok. I think a lot of the things that made Jesse's set seem mediocre in the beginning can be blamed on that. He told me afterwards that almost everytime he started to do a mix he'd creap it in, and bump, it would skip. So he just started to adapt and deal with it until we could get it fixed. He played some historical and popular tracks, but I was happy with his set and glad he had a good time spinning as well.
For those of you that stuck it out for the whole night to catch Lando, thanks, he again closed it out strong the way he knows how.
The heat was pretty bad in that place. We went into it assuming the A/C would be enough cause the guy told us it was very very good. Which it was, before 300 people showed up and started shaking their asses.
It got really hot, and the decision to allow ins and outs was made, and I think that kind of made up for things being the way they were. I'm sorry again for the heat. If I'd have had extra cash to get fans I would have in the middle of the night, but we really didn't have that luxury.
I apologize also for the bar and water rates. I told them to lower it at one point when I heard they were selling cans of beer at $4 each, so after awhile I think they adjusted it, but I'm not sure how it went(it was their bar). I didn't know they were getting cans either. I told them to get Caronas, Newcastle, and maybe some domestics. But what you tell people and what they do are 2 different things sometimes.
This location worked out pretty good otherwise and the crowd was great.
We had Househeads, candykids, cholo tweakers, cracked out whores and lapdancing candybooth girls. I guess that makes your party fun, or interesting.
IF ANYONE HAS PICTURES, or any videos, I'D BEG YOU for copies, or links that we can look at and steal, or just link to. email them to me please.
Thanks to Alicia, Alex, Alan, Doug/Veronica, Eric, Julie, Zack and the whole vinyltribe for representing the way they know how(this hopefully will only be the beginning of some fun things to come), My wonderful girlfriend Nancy for doing the door the whole night, the great security staff, Andy for recording, Dale for the lighting, Adrian for sound, the whole shitload of i-ravers, the other shitload of bluelighters, all the HLF peeps, Dynagroovers, and anyone I forgot, I'm sure you'll let me know.
