Hey,
I think that it is pretty difficult to try to compare
the two cities, because they are too different. I
grew up out here in LA, moved to SF for about 6 yrs
and came back again to LA. I would have to say that
each transition was difficult. SF seems to be more
artsy fartsy and LA has the showey vibe. As far as
the house scenes are concerned, they are very very
different. LA seems to be more about looking the part
than just enjoying the music. As well, LA gets more
varied talent, but it seems that there is a lot more
support for this new house talent in SF. Here in LA
it seems that if you do not have Mark Farina or Miguel
Miggs or one of the more respected promoters throwing
a party, it is almost doomed to failure. The flip
side of it is that LA has better looking people and
more of the "bling bling" vibe, if that is what you
are into. I would recommend that you take a week off
and visit the bay and make a decision for yourself.
