[Dynagroove] too much house...

I agree with you. We have too much to choose from here. Promoters need to start uniting to make the parties bigger and more open. It is a lost cause though, cause we probably won't see this happen cause of the real bottom line: money. People won't unite cause there are always money issues that arise when different promoters throw parties together. This sucks. It would be nice if on a Saturday you could go out and know your friends were all going to be at the same party.

P.S. While everyone is harking back, remember when you would go out to a house party and see a clubkid, even a gang of them? Ugh. Now they get paid to go to Spundae when before they came on their own to our parties cause they were the coolest.

In my personal opinion, I do not think that house is dead in any way, however I do
think that there is too MUCH house. Too much half-assed, boring, same ol' crap,
everyone can do it production out there. It's great that everyone can make tracks
and cd's in their bedroom now, but I think one result is that more crap circulates.
Also, there are toooo many parties. There is nothing we can really do about this
fact, but if you look at my event list (RC Eventlist, rythmik.net) on any given
week, you will see just how many parties there are. On average, every weekend, there
are about 15-20 parties each night that people go to. I remember when you were lucky
to have 3 to choose from. This dilutes the scene and means less vibe. On the flip
side, this could eventually become a good thing, because the good producers will
have to take it up a notch to get noticed. However, I do think if a party is good on
a regular basis, it will succeed. I mean, look at Freethinkin, it's always packed
and continually has a good vibe. The lame parties out there eventually die off and
the solid ones rise to the top. Just my opinions though... any thoughts?
