thread is the same guy who turned me on to the legendary stories of
Francois K ..  thanks peter !

sara .. i agree " It was ethereal. "  this was my first time too and
everyone there was smiling from ear to ear .. veterans nodding as they
see the FK Newbies being blown away ...

all i could say is this guy is amazing ..  awesome  and any other words
that describe this blissed out music genius .. for tops he seemed to be
thoroughly enjoying himself .. as he lit us up

[Dynagroove] My Homie Walked on the Moon with Francois K... >Date: Mon,

> >I must admit, i enjoy seeing people get fired up about something on
the >list. It reminds me of the musical passion people have that is
easily >forgotten. Yes, sometimes these threads get long and redundant
and are >filled with unsubstantiated facts but ya deal. Usually i find
myself >abnormally quiet during these rants, i feel my base opinion of
music is >conveyed through my selective but unwavering support and the
rest of my >emails to the list, etc. I was oging to leave this “House is
Dead” thread >well enough alone until... > >You know it is going to be a
choice night of music and its accessories >when you start the n ight off
on a quest for Beach Breezer Camel cigarettes >and while waiting in line
at Bogies Liquor, you see a frantic cabdriver >screaming about his dire
need for an “Insta-Matic Camera”. But that is >not all of it, his
passenger is a tranny “lady of the night” ever so >demurly reapplying her
bright red lipstick and fluffing up her synthetic >weave... You do the
math. We got to the Larchmont on the early side of >things. Every time i
walk through those heavy curtains at the entrance >(if i can find my way
through them, a la Patsy from AbFab) i almost expect >like a gnome-esque
midget butler to be on the other side, holding out a >silver platter with
2, count em 2, Bombay Gin & Tonics, “We’ve been >waiting for you, Sara.”
I guess i expect my excitement to be felt even >befo’ i get to the
cluuub. This belief is all on account of the junk I >stay hopped up on. I
immediately was picking up what Little Chris was >throwing the fuck down,
he was on the point. Truly, Litle Chris >repeatedly shows us that he is
not just all that, he is all that and a >hubcap. He played this one track
that sticks out in my mind that was for >real. I knew i wasnt going to
remember many of the mucial elements >(Sometimes Denise forgets thinsg)
so i wrote down what time it was played, >however now i can not read my
handwriting (sometimes denise doesnt have >the best penmanship). > >I had
never seen Francois K before, i guess i was expecting to see a man
>wearing like a black and white striped mime shirt the french wear using
a >cigarette holder and singing, “Voulez vous coucher avec moi, c’est
soir?”. >I’m lying, but stereotypes about the french are fun times. I
honestly >don’t know where and how to begin my 2 cents on FK. It was
ethereal. I >don’t know where he came up with this secret recipe for an
otherworldly >set. But it was out there. He was flowing out the dirty
french flavored >h ouse when there is this like 15 minute jungle
interlude, too sick! Even >if you were never a junglist of any
persuasion, you would have totally >appreciated where he was taking us.
It was so interesting seeing all your >homies who usuallly bop along to
the 4x4 beat immediately and with ease >switch it up to the jungle syth
head bop with maybe a definat point here >or there. I coulnt even leave
the downstairs to smoke a cigarette!!! It >was absolutely and utterly
amazing. Now i know why he is kasey goto’s >hero. But the icing on the
cake, the piece de reistance, the golden >element, was for this crazy
jungle interlude to be followed up with >Walking on the Fucking Moon
(hence the subject line). I saw an >instantaneous array of reactions, a
couple happy claps, i burst out >laughing cuz i just didnt know what else
to do, the looks of on some >poeples faces were of them trying to make
heads or tails, lots of jumping. > It is always nice to realize at the
time moments are happening that they >are the ones that won’t be
forgotten. I am sounding all dramatic and gay, >but rruly, i felt like i
could dance forever, dancing on the stage, and >that FK and i could live
together while i was dancing on, dancing on the >stage. Some may say, I’m
wishing my days away, no way. Sorry, i got a >little carried away there.
(Cue the “Let’s Get It On” in 3, 2...) But, >that 38-29-38 of pure loving
that is the essence of Daishiki, that was >missed. Even though you took
the tags off of that shirt you KNEW i was >going to return after i wore
it to the club, i ain’t mad atcha. > >To quote some Stevie Wonder, "Music
knows it is and always will be one of >the things that life just won't
quit". And I know he was talking about >house music, cuz i don't know
about ya'll but I can Feel It All Over. Are >you trying to call Stevie a
liar? Those are fighting words to me, fool. >So to whomever says “Ho use
is Dead”, I pity you. I pity you and your >world (aka Nazi Germany) AND
the horse you rode in on. Has the FBI in >your world put out an “Amber
Alert” for the killer? Do they have any >leads or a composite sketch of
the perp? Are they seeking the death >penalty? I know how to make a
Citizens Arrest in the US, are the same >methods applicable in your
world? I heard a rumor that a pair of fuzzy >tigger pants, a face mask
lined with Vicks, and some trance records were >left behind by the perp,
fact or fiction? No, all kidding aside, such a >negative statement that
hosue is dead is just an evil thing to say, it >kind of hurts my
feelings. You must live in a dark dark world. I’m not >saying by any
means that everthing out there is just super great and peace >love and
happiness all the time, but to me there is nothing that can ever >be
created that is more pleasing to my soul as a successful hunt for the
>right music. I feel that is why we were put here. I concede to the fact
>that i am more optimistic than most poeple and 95% of the time i always
>have a good time, i have just learned sometimes you have to make your
own >party. That is a life secret. i just thank the WAX boys for time
after >time making a party better than any one i could make on my own. >
>i can’t say it loud enough, it was such a great night. I ahvent been out
>on a Saturday since like the end of December (also a phenomonal WAX
party) >so to be welcomed back in such a manner, me likey. Im for sure
going to >check out danny krivitt the end of this month. > >I hit up that
YES aterhour party that Cade played at that night. That was >good times.
It had all the key afterhour elements: >*Drag Queens >*Drag KINGS! >*Fit
toned and sweating black men dancing and feeling it in a way i can >only
envy from afar, being a honky and all >*that weird person who looks to
old to be there >*Good tunes > ;*Darkness > >i walked in to jonene’s “Got
that love tonight like you know i would.” >that was fun. And since i
missed free thinking on Friday i got to hear >Cade drop the sheezy,
incluing the dramaticlly introduced “Shattered >Dreams” amongst other fun
fun tracks. I’ll never tire of a freaks remix >or #16 on Cades green CD,
trust.. But you kind of felt a little guilty >being there, you know one
of those nights you feel should be followed up >immediately with an NA
meeting. like i was at the top of the list of >“classiest acts” there.
ME! Fear. But thats what afterhours are for. >In conclusion, i found
myself admiring a nice tight ass on a drag queen, >does that make me a
lesbian? > >Tomorrows another day, >You’ll stay, >I may as well play, >
>Sara > >Longwinded > >p.s. I’m crying because i missed futurehouse. I
was brain dead. I was >so brain dead that i found myself watching an
ASPCA telethon hosted by >B etty White all day, so braindead that i
almost called in to make a pledge >until i remembered i don’t have a
credit card. Plus i had to work today, >blech. > >
