I wanted to say thank you to Violet for having me out to play. It was the
best I played in a while, hey even the power stayed on!!!! I was glad I was able
to drop some good unreleased shit and had some of ya's dancing to some newer
stuff. The venue was set up nice. The sound was good. The people were good. All
in all, GOOD TIMES!
Now there is a DJ that should have more out time playing, that would be
Lucas. I heard a good portion of his set and the records he was playing was
amazing. I like when a DJ challenges himself to make 2 tracks that dont sound like
they would go together, go together. Lucas is going to be one of those DJs that
wants to take his music to new heights. I love seeing that in a DJ :) Cade
came on after me and was playing that dirty dirty that brought some funk in the
ULTRAviolent trunk! Always have fun dancing to a little monkeys music, even if
he does have a seperated rib!
I then took off and headed back to Hollywood to hear David Harness @ Balance.
This was my first time hearing him and its a shame that i was soo damn tired
because this dude was off the CHAIN. His mixing skills and track selection
were amazing. The week after WMC is always the best because you hear the freshest
shit.
REWIND, back to Friday..........I went to FT and hung out for a bit and
listened to that dude from WAX, sorry i forget the name but dude was laying it down
playing some good shit.
I then made my way over to Larchmont to go hear Jason Hodges, you know the
Ooomph dude. OH MY FLIPPIN GOD....... first off, what a nice guy, second of all,
THE TRACKS THIS MAN WAS WHIPPING OUT WAS OUT CONTROL. People are FOOLISH if
this kid comes to town again and they miss out. I have to say the music I heard
this weekend has been phenomenal! Thanks to all the promoters who brought all
the good talent out! Way to work it out!!!
