[Dynagroove] weekend reviews????

Ok. I tried not to, but that's just not me.  I'll try to be brief.

Friday. Freethinkin.
What a great night.  Brought a friend who loved it.  Said he was going to
tell all of his work friends to check it out.  "Real Hip People," he
described, not posers in an expensive place trying to have fun.  Cade
asked me who the man was "Mes or JT."  Well, JT had some nice selections,
my favorite including one that said "pass the joint, pass the jam, turn
that shit up and play it again!"  HELL YEAH!  BUT, I have to give 'the
man' award to Mes.  His mini sets all seemed like one super funky and
chunky song.  Great mixing, super duper funk.  MMM...i want more Mes.

Saturday. Sublevel.
We took a prom car to the party (trying to realize our 'dont ever drive
while fucked' up goal) and the cabby was mega interested in hearing some
house music.  He said he was going to show up after he returned the work
car and got his own.  We really didnt think he was on the real, but come
3:30 he comes up to us sporting a wife-beater and kikwears.  I thought it
was very cool that he showed up and I hope he had a great time.  I'm sure
he did.  Louis was on it and so was Doc.  This was my friend's like 3rd
"house event."  He is now chastizing me for "ruining him."  He now expects
such quality grooves at every party he goes to.  It's not my fault I dig
good music!

Sunday. Pandora.
Ok. Picture like 500 mostly shirtless gay men packed onto the floor of the
Avalon, girating to some tribal house and sweating all over each other. 
I've been to a couple of these things and no matter what, I could never
get into the music.  Well, honestly, Saturday I heard this DJ Kimberly S
play and no drugs necessary, she tore it up.  Heard a hot PussyCat Dolls
remix as well as that "Dont Stop (all nite)" remix that someone played
recently (i cant remember who at the moment...oh yeah it was lance at
futurehouse).  The defining moment of the party was when the music stopped
and the color guard came out and the entire crowd sang the national anthem
accompanied by a trumpet.  That is the kind of twisted paradoxical shit i
LOVE.  Don't you wish your girlfriend was a freak.like.me?

Sunday. Futurehouse.
We escaped the homo party and got to Futurehouse like 5 minutes after Diz
started playing.  Perfect!  His set seemed a little off, but it could have
been me.  I liked that they put those barriers up at soul folks.  It made
the outside seem less open and kept people inside dancing.  I'm not sure
who played it but I heard another dope Janet Jackson remix....."R&B
Junkie"  Hearing remixes of two of favorite J. songs at two different,
dope parties made my night complete.

Monday. Home.Recovery.TIVOed Entourage.Hamburgers.mmmm.
