[Dynagroove] ***DHSPAM*** who's feelin LA?

I actually asked DC how he feels about LA and he has nothing bad to say
about it. Simply put, he said that he gets about 40 weekend gigs a year
and he plays out of the US more often than not. When his agent gets
offers for 2-3-4 times the amount to play out of the country, he is just
making a business decision. Simple as that. DC said he likes LA and
didn't care if he was playing a rave, club or warehouse as long as
people were dancing.
I think he has a bad wrap and doesn't really deserve it. I have always
heard about how he plays so different in LA vs. elsewhere but all the
times I have seen him out of town, is all about the same...I just think
that the collective LA attitude is totally wrong about him. He is really
nice and the only times I have seen/heard him play bad was when he was
f-ed up.
As for locals, I totally agree....a DJ is just someone playing other
people's music....why wouldn't a local be able to rock it?
Regards,
Pat

why is everybody always bitching and moaning about derrick carter not
coming to la? i don't get it. rumor has it that he doesn't like coming
here, and when he does, he plays a less than spectacular set. i agree
with joey, why waste our $$ if you aren't going to come and have a good
time?
there are so many great djs that we are privy to because we are a major
city and we have *amazing* local talent here...i don't think anyone who
attended the gravy new year's party would argue that it was a bad time,
and it was just heather and local djs. i've heard very few people say
that they had a bad time at dynagroove and, usually the line-up is just
diz and local djs.
i'll take james curd rocking it out and obviously having a blast at an
ultragroove with people who are clearly feelin' his vibe while he plays
with the likes of the bodyrock djs, joeshua and cade over derrick
carter, who doesn't want to be here and is clearly not feeling it,
anyday. (that was a long run on sentence....)
my .02
zoki.
