[Dynagroove] why Daft Punk?

shawn,
You're right, I hear what you're saying. Simplicity usually works better for
dance music.
Don't get me wrong, I am a fan
and have bought some of their tunes days ago. I guess I am not a fan of
arena's and crowd's.
I do give them credit since they are incorporating analog gear into their
show instead of running everthing from a laptop. I am just surprised at how
they have achieved rockstar status, when their formula is widely used, and
doesn't give me that same feeling after a few listens. I was trying to
figure what was that missing element that elevated them to that next level,
rocking arenas and cashing huge checks. It appears the nostalgia factor
gives people something they can relate to, and occupies a special place in
their heart so they forget about most of the other parts of the equation?
I guess triggering a happy memory, or being taken back to a certain point in
time is a powerful quality of emotion, where money is no longer of
importance..

cheers,
estvn

>Steven, I think you're over analyzing it. Daft Punk has been around for a
