RE: SENDING MONEY THROUGH THE MAIL
For years the post office and everyone has always discouraged sending
cash through the mail and yet people still do it. I had always thought
that this was because of the concern that some postal worker was out
there ripping open envelopes looking for cash.
It wasn't until I had a dream last week that I now think I know the real
reason the post office discourages sending cash in the mail. I
dreamed of a postal working picking up the mail from a mail box and then
they dumped it into a big cart that was used to haul the mail away to the
sorting office. As I looked in the cart it was full of cash that had been
in the mail box. I thought to myself later that if sending cash in the
mail was a common practice then theives would be stealing or breaking
into mail boxes for the loot contained therein.
P.S. I have Royal Certified Service and my IMO's are 'free' if I get them
at the Royal Bank. :-)
P.S. I too had thought of suggesting PayPal but it isn't available
everywhere and Mr. G would have to get an account.

I admit to sending cash. I
know it is a gamble, but since my bank charges me $5 to draft a US$ IMO,
and most of my purchases are under $25, if I lose $25 cash once out of
six times, I break even anyhow. So far, I've never had any cash go
'missing'.
And of course, now Paypal accepts Canadian transactions....
