Congrats Gary !!

Now I have to ask... Now that you have your holy grail - what's left ??

What is the one Groo thing that you haven't got that you NEED more than
anything else ?

Maybe if you tell us, we can scour the globe for you and make your dream
come true....

I for one would pitch in for you and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels
that we should all give you something back to reflect your tireless,
enthusiastic and slightly derranged (in a joyous way) love of Groo.

Mark(currently wearing a fine orange T-Shirt and feeling all warm
inside)Brown

Hi all of you Groo Lurkers out there!!

Well, after several years of maniacal trying, I finally tracked down and
received in the mail today an actual copy of the Spring, 1977 edition of
SCENE Magazine published by the California State University at Northridge
School of Journalism. As many of you know, this little jewel contains the
first known published drawing of Groo, coming out almost 5 full years before
Groo first leapt into the comic book world in Destroyer Duck #1 in February,
1982!!!!

Now some people consider the Original Sketch Card to be the Holy Grail of
Groo items because they are so rare and so many people want one (which
drives the price up to ludicrous heights for a piece of cardboard) But to
me the Spring 1977 SCENE is IT!!! And it doesn’t matter that you can
download a copy from the CSUN school of Journalism web site. It doesn’t
matter that hardly anyone even knows it exists!! It doesn’t even matter that
even fewer people care!! No, no, no!! All that matters is that it is the
first known published drawing of Groo and now I finally have a copy of the
actual publication!!! Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

(pant, pant, drool, drool, cough!) You wouldn’t believe the things I have
done to try and find one of these puppies. (Well, actually, I guess you
would believe it because you all know what a complete wacko I am when it
comes to finding Groo stuff.) By the way, the guy who sent me one of his
two copies of the publication said he still has the original art. I told him
that he should take extra special good care of it and will it to his
children. He said he had no children, so I told him to will it to me!

Take care all –Gary “In a state of Euphoria (which I believe is not far from
Iowa)” Grossmann
