You make some excellent points, Sean. What I left out of my tale
was that I had first brought it to a couple of stores I had been
dealing with, neither of whom made a counter-offer after hearing
my inflated asking price, and one of whom tried to talk me out of
selling. 

The guy I dealt with I got out of an ad, and like I saidI was an
easy target. Ann Landers says you can't be taken advantage of
unless you let someone do it to you, she's mostly right, and I
learned a valuable lesson.
