Because a nun won't be whipped bloody and unconscious by Fatwa-issuing cowards
who beat their women if they step outdoors without the required dress.
I saw on the news that a "Fatwa" has been issued against that newspaper
reporter who some clerics say has blasphemed Islam.

The last time Christians were sentenced to death for blaspheming Jesus was
about 300 years ago. Looks like these clerics need to realize what century they
are in.

Muslim women (such as the ones under the Taliban and elsewhere) are told they
cannot educate themselves or have careers, the decision is made for them. It is
not voluntary, as it is for western women.
I sympathize with the Islamic perspective, I really do. Some in the Islamic
world are going through the same period Christians went through in their
crusades, 900 years ago. Now it is a Jihad for the other side, I understand
that. But I have to tell you, their timing is a little off, this is the era of
religious and personal freedom, not crusades and inquisitions.
The radical islamicists who stone women, issue fatwas against writers and
journalists, threaten beauty contestants, and steer airliners into large
buildings are 900 years out of date. They are the past, and they will be left
in the ash heap of history.
