That doesn't get them on the shelves-- at least not around here. Donated 
books usually go to the book SALES the libraries have to raise money to buy books 
some committee or other decided they should have. The only ones that seem to 
get on the shelves are new copies donated by local clubs/non-profit 
organizations: crafts, gardening, local politico's, health and "DARE"-type material. Some 
of the so-called "health" books are rather "iffy", IMO, although the crafts 
and gardening books tend to be very good. Haven't seen any donated fiction 
titles... not even great historical fiction, like the Groo sagas....
