Back in the day, had I been asked that question i would have said, The issue
with the Pirahanas (i agree tyler), the issue with the Monks, and the issue
with the actors. Which I believe are issues #12, 15, and 17 (or around
there). Pretty good six months for Sergio and Mark and the gang.

Favourite Groo issue.
GC: The one where Groo sank a ship in the desert. (well ok he made the
desert after he sank the ship - but the thought was there that Groo could
sink a ship even without water). Because of the neat plot and fantastic
sergio artwork, and ME's minstrelliffic prose.

I believe it was Epic issue 17 (can't remember exactly), it was the one that
had Groo jumping out of the water with tons of little pirhanas biting onto
him. For some reason that story with the island in the middle of the lake
(am i
recalling this correctly?) I just found to be infinitely funny. What I also
liked about it was that it's completely self-contained, with no recurring
characters save for Groo. I've used this one a lot when I try to introduce
others
to the comic.
