I don't know if Bees hibernate or just sorta "chill out" during the winter.  
Already I've found 2 hornets in my house this winter.  One in December and one 
a couple nights ago as I almost stepped on it.
It was walking very very slowly along the floor, so either time had slowed, 
or his joints were creaky due to the cold temperatures.
