I know you're
going to want to do SG-1 BADLY, but damn you've GOTTA
hit Quickdraw. too bad they don't make a Reality-Tivo!
I have no intention of missing Quick Draw. SG-1 may be my favorite TV show,
but, darn it, this is seeing Sergio in action! We plan on seeing The Sergio
and Mark Show and just holing up in Room 6AB all Saturday for the marathon
of ME-moderated panels. I'm holding out hope that the SG-1 panel will be
rescheduled.

Plan to split up with Elie, plan your rendezvous back
together, but realize you WILL miss each other and
often. You get held up, and it can take forever to
navigate the 4-color jungle!
We've tried splitting up at cons to cover more ground, and it doesn't work.
Conventions are no fun without someone there for you to say "Hey, look at
this!" or "That's what our house is missing! A life-sized Yoda!" Usually,
Elie stops to look at the back issues and I check for Groos then wander within a
3-4 booth radius until he's done looking for all of his comics. Once, he
tried going to a Buck Rogers panel while I checked on the progress of our
sketchbook (at the time, Joe Corroney was adding to it), and I felt so naked, I
just couldn't stand it and snuck back to the speaker room. Sure, it sounds
pathetic to read it, but people who've met us usually find our attachment to one
another cute and/or nauseating. Plus, I need him in strange places.
Apparently, I have a misplaced confidence in signs, and if it weren't for him, I
would have spent the last four years trying to get out of the terminal at JFK
airport.

Check out POVonline for Mark's convention tips,
they're a fun and useful read, even if YOU don't need
to be reminded to bathe...

Have read and committed to memory. I plan on bringing two kinds of soap on
top of what the hotel provides, just to be on the safe side, and I'm shopping
today for extra-turbo-powered deoderant. I've gotten whiffs of people at
smaller cons who are charitably described as "gamey." That stays in your nose
forever.

Anyway, thanks for all the hints. Look forward to seeing everyone who will
be there in a couple weeks.

Janet
