[Groop] Jewelry in Groo

	Lately my girlfriend and I have been reading issues of Marvel
Groo together. It seems than a number of issues have multi-page
full-color glossy ads for jewelry. She and I were joking about ordering
an engagement ring or "love" pin for the other through the ads. We
thought it was funny that engagement rings were actually being
advertised in a humorous quirky comic such as Groo (or even ANY COMIC).
	This made us wonder just who was buying jewelry for any loved
one through a comic book, particularly since a number of Groo comic
issues had similar ads. Obviously that meant the jewelry company thought
it was financially viable to continue running their ad over a number of
months. Could they actually have generated enough business from the ads
to warrant ongoing print-runs?
	Maybe I MIGHT be sounding like a snob in thinking normal people
would not buy jewelry from a comic book ad, but I just HAVE TO wonder...
did anyone ever order jewelry from the ads??? In case anyone is
wondering the issues we have read lately were Marvel issues in the 40
range.
	Gotta go and get that Bling-Bling...
