[Groop] Oso the dog

Sorry if this has been covered before, but does anyone know if "Oso" is
based on a real dog?

I'm referring to the dog in Groo Marvel issues #103 and #104 (Aug + Sept
1993).

I originally thought he was just a one-off character, but then what got me
to thinking is that Oso also appears (along with Rufferto) in "Sergio
Aragones' Next MAD Book" (Aug 1992), he's easily identifiable because his
name is written on his food bowl.

So I was wondering if Sergio just drew these different depictions of Oso at
around the same time, or does Oso also exist "in real life", like Rufferto
does?

(Interesting trivia fact #1: Rufferto is a Blue Heeler/Queensland
Heeler/Australian Cattle dog)
(Interesting trivia fact #2:"Oso" means "bear" in spanish, a good name for a
Rottweiler! :D )
