[Groop] Solo 11

Hmm... regarding your local shop's refusal to hold Solo 11 for you- it wasn't necessarily a lazy clerk; I worked at a large comic shop for a while, and you would not believe the number of clowns who ask you to set such-and-such aside for them (often tying up hundreds, occasionally literally thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, particularly when dealing with things like anime box sets or collectibles)... and then vanish, never to be seen again. If a comic has not sold within a short while of arrival, odds are it's not gonna sell (at least for the vast majority of them). There are ways around that- if you'd asked them to hold you a copy until closing time of the day it arrived, or something to that effect, odds are they would've said yes (particularly if you'd asked the manager or someone with authority- many of the lowly wage-slaves in any retail store simply don't have the authority for even such a trivial matter as that).

Of course, it's equally possible that the peon you spoke to was simply lazy and didn't feel like bestirring their chair-bound posterior to fetch something for a relatively minor sale. *shrug* It all depends on the shop.

  Cheers,
  David Reinhardt
